Of the many parts of the human body, the face and neck are the most delicate. This is because the face has eyes, which if not taken good care of might lead to serious vision disorders now or in the near future. The neck if the most affected when it comes to matter of radiations and UV rays. The skin covering the neck is very soft, and overexposure of that section to sunrays might lead to cancer in future. To protect these parts, sunhats have been recommended for many years, with even schools encouraging their pupils and students not to do outdoor activities when the sun is high unless they have sunhats on.

Children are the most affected by sunrays, this is because of the underdeveloped but developing features that they have. A little disorder of a developing organ will affect that organs functionality in the future, therefore the importance of keeping your children under sunhats in matters of UV rays. A worry from many parents is that if their children are covered during sunny days, they will miss the important vitamin D elements that are crucial in the growth of children, but this is not true. Overexposure to any sun does not mean that your child is getting significant amounts of vitamin D. vitamin D sources from the sun are only available when sun has not intensified its radiations, and this is early in the morning or late in the evening.

There are other sources of vitamin D for your child with fish and eggs being the commonest of them. Instead of getting your child roasted on the sun in the name of getting the vitamin D, get the locally available products that have the vitamin Ds in them and give them your child. However, when enjoying the sun and sands, make sure they are in sunhats.
